ProfileI'm a senior lecturer in Information Management at the
Business School of
Oxford Brookes University, UK. I'm teaching both Undergraduate and Postgraduate modules, and have an (unfortunately still quite small) research remission. My research focusses on teleworking, specifically looking at aspects of management and control, as well as implementation. I'm also interested more generally in supporting management with IS.
I've got a PhD from
Twente University, Netherlands (see below for the write-up!), where I also did my MSc in Management and Engineering.
Journal publication:
Diana Limburg, Paul J. Jackson (2007) Teleworkflow: supporting remote control with Workflow Management Systems, New Technology, Work and Employment 22 (2) , 146–167
doi:10.1111/j.1468-005X.2007.00190.x My PhD dissertation was published as a
book:
Diana Limburg (2002), Making Telework a Reality; A Method for Introducing a New Way of Working into an Organisation, Twente University Press.
It's got quite a lot in it on the Design of teleworking, as well as the implementation process. A key contribution in it is the 'Telework Implementation Method', which provides a planned approach for implementing telework.
I've got boxes full of them in my office, please let me know if you would be interested in receiving a copy!
Two further publications were
chapters in editted books resulting from ITA workshops:
Limburg, D.O. (2003) 'Learning to telework', in: Jackson, P. And B. Rapp (Eds.), Organisation and Work Beyond 2000, Springer-Verlag: 117—134.
Limburg, D.O. (2002), 'Realising new organisational forms', in: Jackson, P.J. and R. Suomi, eBusiness and Workplace Redesign, London: Routledge: 83—102.
Finally, I've presented papers at most of the ITA workshops. I've only missed Tokyo (1999 - the year Anna was born) and Lillehammer (2007 - the year Jasmine was born).
